I’ve always wanted to help people; I just didn’t realize counseling was the way I’d end up doing it. Truth be told, I grew up expecting to help people save money as an accountant, but along the way I realized I’m much better at helping people understand their relationships than I am at helping them understand their taxes – thank goodness for that!
While pursuing my undergraduate degree in psychology at Baylor University, I very quickly began to appreciate and develop my passion for pursuing a career in mental health counseling. Working with emotionally and behaviorally disturbed adolescents at the Waco Center for Youth in my last two years of study at Baylor further convinced me that I had found my career path. During my graduate studies at St. Edward’s University, I began working with adults struggling with mental illness at Austin State Hospital. Since finishing my Master’s Degree in Counseling, I've worked at a relationship counseling center - helping couples move forward from the heartaches of Infidelity - and I worked as the lead therapist at a substance use treatment center - helping individuals and families better understand and break the cycle of addiction. I am now in private practice full-time and I'm here to guide and support couples through their struggles and challenges.
