Substance Use Group for Teen Boys

Adolescence is often a very challenging time in an individuals life for so many reasons. Figuring out "Who am I?", "What type of person do I want to be?", and "Where do I fit in?" are just a few of the many questions teens ask themselves. During this period of discovery, it's not uncommon for adolescents to deal with challenges such as stress, anxiety or even depression. Unfortunately as a means to cope with these challenges some teens turn to substance use.  As parents, you'll do your best to love and support your child through these challenges, as well as guide them to becoming the person they want to be. Your involvement will be crucial but they will also need another support system to fall back on during the times you're not available. What they need is a healthy peer group. Others, that know what your child is dealing with because they're in similar shoes.

Welcome to the Substance Use Group for Teen Boys! This is a twelve week closed group designed specifically to help teenagers stop drug problems before they start. By learning about how drugs impact them, teens will have a place to think about different ways to cope with stress, get along with their families and relate to their friends.

The group will occur Tuesday nights from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at The Practice ATX - 3811 Bee Cave Rd Suite 204 - starting January 16th, 2018. The group will last for 90-minutes and will cost $50 per session.

Trauma Group Kendall Campbell Counseling Austin Texas

Conquering Trauma Group

Trauma of any kind has the power to crack and skew the lens through which you view the world and yourself, making everything appear off. Trauma can impact your identity, your relationships, and your occupation/schooling on a daily basis and it can come from anything. It can be sexual assault, domestic violence, and war – each of which are widely discussed and shown through media. But it can also be the loss of a loved one, infidelity, or divorce. It’s any deeply distressing, disturbing or even embarrassing event/experience that causes a person to shift how they view themselves or the world around them.

If you feel your life has been, and continues to be, affected by a trauma(s) then this is the group for you. During this twelve-week long closed group you will learn how trauma can impact us on all fronts and by the end you will know how to challenge the negative beliefs and thoughts caused by trauma in order to overcome it and improve your everyday life.

The group will occur Sunday afternoons at The Practice ATX - 3811 Bee Cave Rd Suite 204 - starting January 14th, 2018. The group will last for 90-minutes and will cost $50 per session.
